Butterfly garden expert Jane Hurwitz will do a presentation on gardening for butterflies
August 25 from 10-11 a.m. at Fletcher Memorial Library, Hampton. The free program will
discuss habitat, plant selection, and garden planning.
Hurwitz, the editor of Butterfly Gardener magazine, is the former director of the
Butterfly Garden and Habitat Program for the North American Butterfly Association. She has
spent decades studying butterflies as well as plants and gardens of all kinds.
Her book, Butterfly Gardening: The North American Butterfly Association Guide, was
recently named as a summer reading pick by the New York Times.
The library at 257 Main Street has its own handsome butterfly garden to serve as a further
